The purpose of maintenance is to keep the garage door opener in good condition and to ensure its safe and effective operation at all times. The process begins with the inspection of all components of the opener system. These include the parts which make up the operator, the cable which connects the power unit to a power outlet and all accessories - the safety sensors, remote control, wall button and wireless entry keypad.
If the inspection reveals damaged or broken parts, garage door opener maintenance repair is provided. Dust and dirt removal from the components and accessories is also part of the process. If rust is present on the chain or screw drive, it is removed before lubricant is applied. The operation of the safety reversal mechanism, safety sensors and manual release handle is tested. If they do not function properly, repair is provided. Usually, maintenance is provided every six months while the safety features' testing can be performed monthly.
